Tho (Dinh) Doan, 89, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, passed away on Friday, September 18, 2026, at Villas of Holly Brook in Mount Carmel, Illinois. She was born on March 27, 1937, in Laos, the daughter of Hoang and Hoi (Ngo) Dinh. Tho married the love of her life, Ronald M. Doan on November 2, 1969, and he preceded her in death on February 27, 2026.
Tho will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who cherished her family. She had a happy spirit and found great joy in cooking for those she loved. Tho was an avid gardener and enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially taking walks. She also enjoyed knitting and loved making special gifts for family and friends. Tho was of the Catholic faith. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her.
Tho will be remembered by her sons, Timothy C. Doan and wife, Holly and Thanh (Vi Nguyen) Tran; daughter, Thuc Tran; grandchildren, Bret Doan, Sean P. Collins, Summer Eliza Collins, Tammy Tran, Theresa Tran, and Ben Tran; many loved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Tho was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ron Doan; son, Theodore “Ted” Doan; daughter, Thoa Tran; and brother, Ty Dinh.
A Private Family Graveside Services will be held at Highland Memorial Cemetery with Father Robert Zwilling officiating.
