June D. (Anderson) Steinker, 96, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, passed away on Friday, September 18, 2026, at Oakview Nursing & Rehabilitation in Mount Carmel, Illinois. She was born on June 9, 1930, in Elgin, Illinois, the daughter of Charles and Adeline (Richardson) Anderson. June married Harry Steinker on December 9, 1949, and he preceded her in death on October 3, 2011.
June will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother who loved her family with her whole heart. She was happiest when she was cooking for her family and especially enjoyed reading cookbooks and trying new recipes. June was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and loved cheering on her favorite team. She was a member of Congregational Church of Old Carpentersville. She will be missed by her family and all who knew her.
June will be remembered by her daughter-in-law, Brenda Steinker; grandchildren, Amanda Steinker, Melissa (Adam) Gilil, Michael (Jillian) Steinker, Jr; great grandchildren, Austin Rodriguez, Faith Rodriguez, Aaron Gilil, Lillian Steinker, and Hailey Gilil.
June was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Deborah Steinker; son, Michael Steinker, Sr; sisters, Dorothy and Marcella.
