Katherine Keneipp, 94,Katherine Keneipp, 94, of Mt. Carmel, Illinois passed away peacefully on August 27, 2026, at The Villas of Hollybrook in Mt. Carmel.
She was born on May 20, 1932, in Wabash County, Illinois. Katherine was the daughter of Clifton and Velma (Stoneberger) Treece. She married Jackie Lee Keneipp on April 26, 1955, in Mt. Carmel.
Katherine was a Sunday school teacher at Community Church of God and always loved working with all the children over the years. She loved the opportunity to teach, encourage and share her love with each child who came through her classroom. Her family and home was the most important thing in her life. Above all else, she loved her Lord and savior.
Survived by her daughter Melinda Sue “Mindy” (Thomas) Silvernale, grandson, Andrew (Allie) Silvernale, and great-grandchildren; Tyson, Dylan, Micah and Noah Silvernale. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jackie Lee Keneipp, her brother, Gene Treece, and sister, Patsy Randolph.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 30, 2026, from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at Short-Cunningham Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Short-Cunningham Funeral Home.
Burial will follow the service at Highland Memorial Cemetery.
