She was born on May 15, 1967, in Mount Carmel, Illinois, the daughter of Rickliffe and Sharon (Miller) Henry. Debbie married Duane Lewis on August 14, 1993, and together they enjoyed thirty-three years centered on their family.

Debbie will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She began her working career in retail before pursuing her passion for caring for others, eventually working as an in-home healthcare provider with Addus HealthCare.

Debbie was a woman who found joy in the simple things in life. She loved spending time with her family and friends and especially treasured time with her four-legged babies. She enjoyed puzzles and board games with her family, playing pool and darts, relaxing at the beach, watching true crime shows, and never passed up the chance to sit back and enjoy a good thunderstorm. One of her greatest joys was spending time playing with her grandson, Harlan Ray. Family traditions and gatherings held a special place in Debbie's heart. She especially enjoyed trips to Spring Mill State Park, playing pranks, celebrating Halloween, and watching Super Bowl Sundays with the Smock’s. Her cooking was also something her family treasured and was enjoyed by all. She was a member of the Daughters of American Revolution and the Eagles. Debbie was a member of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ, where she helped with the youth program and sang in the church choir. Her faith and her love for others were important parts of her life.
