Carl Patrick Pierce, 56, of Browns, Illinois, loving husband, father, and papaw went home to join his loved ones in heaven Sunday, January 15, 2023, at Ascension St. Vincent in Evansville, Indiana.
He was born March 17, 1966, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Ralph and Laura M. (Hall) Pierce. His family moved to Mt. Carmel when he was a baby. Carl graduated from Mt. Carmel High School, then attended college. On April 3, 1992, he married Juanita Cooper in Mt. Carmel, Illinois.
Carl was an active member of St. John The Baptist Episcopal Church. He was a trucker for a manufacturing company, had worked for Champion Labs, was an EMT and a past city Marshall. Carl was a huge fan of the Mt. Carmel Aces and the Indianapolis Colts. He enjoyed being outdoors. One of his favorite outdoor activities was being in the woods hunting mushrooms. Carl loved his family and spending time with them.
Left to cherish Carl’s memory is his wife Juanita of 31 years of marriage; his seven children, Arkie (Alyssa), Zachary (Clara), Jason, Cory (Jenny), Carl Jr., Timmy (Cheyenne), and Devin; grandchildren, Cadance, Carter, Adalyn, Deacon, Caliyah, Elias, Apollo, Anthony, Courtney, Anastasia, Miranda, Devon, Alivia, Chase, Presleigh, Trace, Kole, Brylie, Braylin, Isac, Claeb, Sloan and Cambria; mother, Laura M. Hall; siblings, Jerry, Mark, David Roger and Loretta Pierce; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles; close friends, Marshall Thompson, Dave Smith and Jim Nation; and pets Kirby, Mondo and Muffin.
Preceding Carl in death were his father; siblings, Warren and Ralph Pierce; and favorite dog, Buster.
A visitation will be Saturday, January 21, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Short-Cunningham Funeral Home, 527 N. Mulberry Street, Mt. Carmel, Illinois. The funeral service will begin immediately after visitation, at 12:00 noon, with burial at Browns Cemetery.
