Richard Lee “Dickie” Grubbs, 83, of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, passed away Saturday, November 13, 2021, at Oakview Heights Nursing & Rehabilitation.
He was born June 11, 1938, in Mt. Carmel, Illinois, the son of Clarence and Ada Pearl (Clark) Grubbs. Richard was a carnival ride operator throughout his life.
Left to cherish Dickie’s memory are his wife, Barbara Ruth Burnette; sisters, Norma Jean Weiss of Mt. Carmel, Sandy (Dale) Halfacre, Mt. Carmel, Barbara Jo (Albert) Steele of Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Ada Pearl (Clark) Grubbs and brothers Claude Grubbs, Billie Grubbs, Sonny Grubbs.
Funeral service will be Thursday, November 18, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Short Funeral Home. The burial will follow at Highland Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation for family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m. until service time.
