Clifford Burton, Jr., 90, of Mount Carmel, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2018 at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, Indiana surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on February 1, 1928 in Wabash County, Illinois the son of Clifford and Viola (Deisher) Burton. Clifford married Carrel Compton on October 27, 1952.
Clifford faithfully served his country in the United States Air Force where he worked on radio systems on the aircrafts. Clifford had a knack working with radios and spent time as an amateur radio operator. Among his hobbies he enjoyed being outdoors bicycling and racing motorcycles. He will be missed by his family and all who knew him.
Clifford will be remembered by his loving wife of sixty-six years, Carrel Burton of Mount Carmel; son, Terry Burton and wife Terri of Mount Carmel; daughter, Janet Gloria of San Angelo, TX; one granddaughter and three great grandchildren; brother, Jim Burton of Mount Carmel; sisters, Valerie Patterson of Mount Carmel and Neva Grubb of Albion, IL.
Clifford was preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael Burton; and six brothers.
In keeping with Clifford’s wishes he will be cremated and no formal services will be held at this time.
