A Washington Man was arrested on Multiple Charges Friday following a Single Vehicle Crash

Daviess County:  On Friday at approximately 12:08 pm Trooper Jarrod Lents responded to the report of a one vehicle crash with injuries on CR 500 E south of CR 600 S.  When Trooper Lents arrived he observed a two-toned silver/maroon Dodge Ram off of the east side of the roadway.  There was no one immediately around the vehicle, however, Trooper Lents observed three people walking north on CR 500 E, approximately a quarter mile north of the crash scene.  He left the scene to talk to the people that were walking.  When he arrived with them he noticed that a female had a large and deep cut above her eye and was bleeding down her face.  She was also being supported by the other two people. Truelove, 41 Washington.  When Trooper Lents began asking questions about the crash, Truelove became uncooperative.

Also during the investigation methamphetamine, and items commonly associated with drug use were located.  He was taken into custody and charged with the following charges.

Traffic Stop Yields Stolen Police Handgun and Arrests

Vigo County—This afternoon at 12:56, Indiana State Police Master Trooper Hans Nowak stopped a  white 2010 Chevrolet Impala westbound on US 40 near Hunt Street for 63 miles-per-hour in a 45mph zone. A smell of possible burnt marijuana was emanating from the vehicle as Nowak approached the driver.

During a search of the vehicle, no Marijuana was located, but a reported stolen handgun was found in the purse of a female passenger. The Glock .40 caliber semi-auto handgun was reported stolen to the Terre Haute Police Department on April 08, 2017 and bore a serial number consistent with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department handguns. Further inquiry has led troopers to believe the weapon was stolen from a retired IMPD officer’s vehicle that was parked at a local hotel on or around that date.

The arrested driver was 35-year-old Howard Lorenzo Harris of Terre Haute, IN. Harris was preliminarily charged with Possession of Handgun without a Permit, Possession of Stolen Property, and Operating While Intoxicated-Marijuana. Numerous traffic citations were issued as well. Harris was incarcerated in the Vigo County Jail.

The arrested passenger was 37-year-old Sasha T. Batson of Terre Haute, IN. Batson was preliminarily charged with Possession of Stolen Property and Possession of Handgun without a Permit. She was incarcerated in the Vigo County Jail.

ILLINOIS STATE POLICE SEEK ASSISTANCE IN LOCATING VEHICLE

Nashville, Illinois – The Illinois State Police (ISP) is asking for assistance in locating a vehicle that was involved in a fatal traffic crash on I-64 near Nashville, Illinois (mile post 47).  The vehicle sought is a 2007 black Cadillac CTS.

On January 5, 2018, a Toyota Avalon was eastbound on I-64 in the right lane.  A black 2007 Cadillac CTS approached the Toyota from the rear at a high rate of speed in the same lane.  The Cadillac passed the Toyota on the left and as the Cadillac merged back into the right lane, it struck the Toyota.  This caused the Toyota to leave the roadway and crash into a tree.  One of the passengers in the Toyota was killed and another suffered major injuries.

The Cadillac will likely have damage to the rear passenger side and contain silver paint transfer in the damaged area.  Witnesses reported that the Cadillac had tinted windows at the time of the crash.
