ILLINOIS STATE POLICE SEEK ASSISTANCE IN LOCATING VEHICLE

Nashville, Illinois – The Illinois State Police (ISP) is asking for assistance in locating a vehicle that was involved in a fatal traffic crash on I-64 near Nashville, Illinois (mile post 47).  The vehicle sought is a 2007 black Cadillac CTS.

On January 5, 2018, a Toyota Avalon was eastbound on I-64 in the right lane.  A black 2007 Cadillac CTS approached the Toyota from the rear at a high rate of speed in the same lane.  The Cadillac passed the Toyota on the left and as the Cadillac merged back into the right lane, it struck the Toyota.  This caused the Toyota to leave the roadway and crash into a tree.  One of the passengers in the Toyota was killed and another suffered major injuries.

The Cadillac will likely have damage to the rear passenger side and contain silver paint transfer in the damaged area.  Witnesses reported that the Cadillac had tinted windows at the time of the crash.

Anyone with information is asked to contact ISP Zone 7 at (618) 542-1129.  The family of the victim is offering a $3,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the hit-and-run driver.

This is an active and ongoing investigation.  No further information is available.
