It’s hoped that this year’s 4th of July celebration in Mt. Carmel can include the unveiling of a plaque in honor of the bell that was once part of the USS Wabash. The bell currently sits at the Uptown Amphitheater and city clerk Rudy Witsman said a fund drive continues to raise money for the plaque. He said if enough money is raised, the plaque will be unveiled as part of the Fantastic 4th weekend in Mt. Carmel. Donations can be made at city hall.
