Pamela Jean Moran, 77, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, passed away on Friday, September 4, 2026, at her home, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on August 22, 1949, in Grayville, IL, the daughter of Bernice Ray and Verna Marie (Glasco) Hawkins. Pam married Wayne E. Moran, Sr., on October 11, 1980, and he preceded her in death on February 7, 2020.
Pam will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother who was happiest when spending time with her family. She loved her home at Mesa Lake, where she enjoyed fishing, gardening, and the peacefulness of being outdoors. Pam was a giving and selfless person who truly enjoyed caring for others and was always willing to help those around her. She also loved her dogs, Annie and Lucy, who brought her great joy. Pam was a member of Hope Lutheran Church. She will be missed by her family and all who knew her.
Pam will be remembered by her daughter, Sheila (Layne) Kihn of Haubstadt, IN; daughter in law, Geana Collard of Carmi, IL; bonus children, Wayne Moran, Jr. of Effingham, IL, Gayle (Tom) Harris of Clay City, IL, and Audrey (Stephen) McCarthy of Flora, IL; grandchildren, Kody Brown, Jordan Brown, Kaleb (Ashley) Collard, and Kelsie Henson; ten great grandchildren; many loved bonus grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Bobby (Sarah) Hawkins of Grayville, IL; sister, Donna Butler of Mt. Carmel; many loved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Pamela was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wayne Moran, Sr., son, Michael Collard; siblings, Sharalee Coe, Keith “Buddy” Hawkins, Betty Duncan, and Jimmy Hawkins.
In keeping with Pam’s wishes, no formal services will be held at this time. A Celebration of Pam’s life will be held at a later date.
