Martha S. Drone, 73, of West Salem, Illinois, passed away on Monday, September 1, 2026, at her residence. She was born on April 29, 1953, in Eldorado, Illinois, the daughter of Theodore and Edna (Wagner) Drone.
Martha loved her family dearly, especially her great-niece and great-nephews. She was devoted to her work as a registered nurse and took great pride in caring for others. Martha spent many years working as an oncology nurse in home health, where she compassionately cared for those in need.
Martha was a woman of Christian faith who loved Jesus. She enjoyed attending Bible studies and participating in prayer groups. She attended The River Church in Mt. Carmel. In her free time, Martha loved being outdoors and found peace tending to her flower gardens and fishing at the pond. She will be missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
Martha will be remembered by her sisters, Cindy Drone and Sharon Burke; brother, Mike Drone and wife, Nancy; nephew, Tom Burke; niece, Elicia (Nick) Johnson; great nieces and nephews, Paul, Kayla, Avery, Leah, Callie and Adam; and dear friend, Jenny Elswick.
Matha was preceded in death by her parents; and brother-in-law, Tom Burke.
In keeping with Martha’s wishes no formal service will be held at this time.
