Heaven became a bit rowdier as it welcomed Ann Tofani on the morning of August 23. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. What a wonderful life she lived.
She was born Ann Lael Hubbard on October 3, 1939 in Milwaukee, WI. Preceding her in death were her parents, siblings Emmy Lou, Dick and Bob, and her grandson Jason. She is survived by her sister Sandie, children Glenn (Felicity), Patty (Alberto) and Pete, friend Chris DeWitt, 16 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
Ann was a devoted Christian which she demonstrated by serving her community. She was a public school teacher until her retirement in 1994, served as a City Commissioner (Fire Commissioner), Hospice Chaplin, Deacon at St. John’s-Albion, Vicar at St. Mary’s-Robinson and St. Michael’s-Coolidge, owned and managed the Bible Book Store, managed Hub Printing, sold life insurance. She was a life-long learner and multifaceted individual. She grew and sold mushrooms, coached basketball and softball teams, traveled extensively throughout the world and US, took up carving, played the guitar, threw a perfect spiral (impressing her grandchildren), and had an incredibly low golf handicap…nevermind those mulligans.
She touched many with her kindness, care, and sense of humor. There will be a service in her honor at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Coolidge, AZ on Sept. 26th at 10:00 Pacific Standard Time. The service will be broadcast live here: https://www.facebook.com/StMichaelsCoolidge/mentions
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that you enjoy 18 holes in her memory and do what you can to care for your local community: loving God by loving people.
