Charles A. Richardson, 78

Charles A. Richardson, 78, of Keensburg, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at home surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on October 24, 1947, in Princeton, Indiana, the son of George and Lida (Morgan) Richardson. He faithfully served his Country in the United States Army. Chuck married Sandra Hocking on June 7, 1968, and together enjoyed fifty-eight years of marriage centered on their family.

Chuck will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who loved his family beyond measure. He especially loved his wife and cherished the life they built together. Nothing brought him greater happiness than spending time with those he loved most and making memories together. Chuck loved all holidays but Christmas with his whole family together was the best. He had a passion for music and especially enjoyed playing the guitar. In his free time, he enjoyed working crossword puzzles, woodworking and gardening. In his younger years, he enjoyed coon hunting. Chuck was also a loyal Kentucky Wildcats basketball fan and always loved cheering them on. He will be missed by his family and all who knew him.

Chuck will be remembered by his wife, Sandra Richardson; three daughters, Christina Pitzer and husband, Brian, Amber Berberich and husband, Denny, and Hannah Whelan and husband, Nick; grandchildren, Paige (Jeremy) Edrington, Shelby (Scott) Goodson, Courtney Hughes, Brooke Pitzer, Brylee Pitzer, Brayden Smith, Zane Smith, Ethan Smith, Grayson Smith, Stacey (Caleb) Gawthorp, Bradley Berberich; great grandchildren, Emersyn Edrington, Lincoln Edrington, Noah Edrington, Jonas Goodson, Maes Goodson; sisters, Alice (Steve) Rutter and Linda Pritchard; many loved cousins, nieces and nephews.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Matthew Hughes; and great grandson, Roman Goodson.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a Visitation from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., Thursday, August 6, 2026, in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home.

A Graveside Service with Full Military Honors will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 6, 2026, at Antioch Cemetery with Pastor Allan Wright officiating.
