Vivian L. Dorney, 92, of Allendale, Illinois, passed away on Friday, July 3, 2026, at the Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville, Indiana surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on November 4, 1933, in Crawford County, Illinois, the daughter of John and Cleo (Dennis) Burris. Vivian married George Earl Dorney on October 3, 1951, at the First Christian Church in Allendale, Illinois, and together they enjoyed sixty-three years of marriage before his passing on December 6, 2014.
Vivian was happiest at home and was most proud of her family. She treasured the time she spent with those she loved. She enjoyed attending First Christian Church in Allendale whenever she was able. Her faith was an important part of her life. Vivian had a special love for cats. She also enjoyed cooking for her family, and everyone looked forward to her famous coleslaw. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her.
Vivian will be remembered by her daughter, Deborah “Debbie” Williams and husband, Jim; grandson, David Williams and wife, Alix; great grandchildren, Sylas, Liam and Olive Williams; many loved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Vivian was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, Matthew Williams; twin great-granddaughters, Gabriella Lynn and Isabella Marie Williams.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a Visitation from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 8, 2026, in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home.
Graveside Services will be at 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Allendale Cemetery with Pastor Vaughn Courter officiating.
