Daniel J. Goodman, 70

Daniel J. Goodman, 70, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 5, 1956, in Mount Carmel, the son of Herbert and Betty L. (Richardson) Goodman. He graduated from Mount Carmel High School Class of 1975. Danny married Karen Baker on December 26, 1981, in Tipton, Indiana, and together they enjoyed forty-four years of marriage centered on their family.

Danny loved his family and treasured every moment he spent with them. He enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, and gathering with loved ones for family cookouts. He also loved traveling, dancing, and simply spending time with his friends. Danny was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and always looked forward to playing cards and bowling. Most of all, his family would tell you that one of Danny's favorite pastimes was giving his wife, Karen, a few more things to do and "stirring the pot" whenever he had the chance. His sense of humor and playful spirit brought laughter to those around him. Danny will be deeply missed by his family, his friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Danny held many different jobs to provide for his family. He worked at Goodson Orchard, Key Market, Snap On Tools, City of Mount Carmel, Rural King, Ben Franklin, Wal-Mart, and Newman Contractors. He was also a member of the Eagles, Sons of the Legion, Tipton C.B. Club, and Boy Scouts of America.

Danny will be remembered by his wife, Karen Goodman; son, Michael Goodman and wife, Tamara of Evansville, IN; two daughters, Laura Gibler and husband, Todd and Amanda Greentree and husband, Brian both of Mt. Carmel; grandchildren, Bryan Banks, Jasmine (Grant) Deisher, Michelle (Tim Wire) Banks, Kaitlynn Garrett, Lillian Garrett, and Luna Goodman; great grandson, Cain Wire; siblings, Donald Dicus, Herbert (Shirley) Goodman, Jr., and Debbie (Robert Majors) White; many loved nephews, nieces, and cousins including extended family from Tipton and Kokomo, IN; and his beloved dog, Bullet.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved grand angels; and brother, Randy Goodman.
