Virginia “Ginger” C. Boewe, 74, of West Salem, Illinois, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2026, at Ascension St. Vincent Evansville Hospice Care, surrounded by her family.
Born on January 31, 1952, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Ginger was the daughter of the late Robert E. and Sarah Naomi (McCubbin) Craig. She graduated from Valley High School in 1969.
On January 31, 1970, she married the love of her life, Larry Boewe, and together they shared 56 years of marriage. Ginger worked at Champion Laboratories for over 30 years, ending her career as the Customer Service Manager.
Above all, Ginger loved her family. She will be remembered for her kindness, strength, compassion, and caring spirit.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Boewe; her daughter, Tina (John) Phelps; her son, Daniel (Lesley) Boewe; and her grandchildren, Kelsey Phelps, Brendan Boewe, and Jenna (Joseph) Martin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Robert E. Craig; and her sister, Naomi Sue Hammer.
Graveside service will be held at the West Salem Moravian Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the West Salem First Christian Church or Heart to Heart Hospice Foundation in Ginger's memory.
