Billie Sue Jenks, 68

Billie Sue Jenks, 68, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, Indiana, surrounded by her family.

She was born on November 30, 1957, in Mount Carmel, the daughter of William Guy and Dora Lou (Henson) Ellis.

Billie Sue lived a life centered around the people and moments she loved most. She enjoyed quiet days at home, relaxing with her favorite reality television shows and the loyal companionship of her dog, Tucker. Family meant everything to her, and she rarely missed a chance to be present—whether it was cheering from the stands at her grandkids’ sporting events or gathering together for family time. One of her greatest blessings was becoming a great-grandmother to her precious Collins, who brought her endless joy. Billie Sue’s warmth, devotion, and steady love will be remembered always.

Billie Sue was a member of Gospel Kingdom Church.

Billie Sue leaves behind two daughters, Sailin Mae Deisher and husband Steve, Bobbi Sue Allen; grandchildren Carmen (Brayden) Peterson, Jack Deisher, Malachi (Madison McPhearson) Trusty, River Deisher, Mason Allen; one great grandchild, Collins Margaret Peterson; sisters, Mary Lou (Bill) Dardeen, Beverly Jean Hodgson; and special friend, Richard “Wiggy” Wiggins.

Billie Sue was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jackie Joe Ellis; brother-in-law, Donnie Hodgson, niece, Mary Lynn Barnes; nephew, Jackie Ellis; aunt and uncle, Carmen and Norman “Butch” Compton.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a Visitation from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., Friday, May 8, 2026, at Gospel Kingdom Church.

Funeral Services will be 12:00 p.m., Friday, May 8, 2026, at Gospel Kingdom Church with Brother Brandon Hodgson officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Cemetery.
