David Dunn, 75, of Mt. Carmel, Illinois passed away on March 3, 2026 at Oakview Nursing and Rehab in Mt. Carmel surrounded by his loving family.
He was born August 23, 1950, in Evansville, Indiana, the son of Joan (Dunn) Sullivan. He married Liz Hargrave on July 10, 1971, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mt. Carmel; she survives. They were married for 54 years.
Dave retired from Snap-on Tools. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He was an avid reader, particularly about history. He loved photography and to travel. He also loved sports, and his favorite teams were the Cincinnati Reds, Green Bay Packers, and Los Angeles Lakers. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
Dave is survived by wife, Liz Dunn of Mt. Carmel, and sons Clint Dunn of Mt. Carmel and Tom Dunn of Louisville, KY. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Kyle Dunn and Clayton Dunn of Mt. Carmel, and Josie, Max, and Violet Dunn of Louisville.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Joan Sullivan, and his stepfather, Dan Sullivan.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 9, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Short-Cunningham Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 9, 2026, at Short-Cunningham Funeral Home.
Burial will follow the service at Highland Memorial Cemetery.
