Theresa Yvonne Webb, 77, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 12, 2026, at Oakview Nursing & Rehab. She was born on November 20, 1948, in Louisville, Kentucky, the daughter of Layton Evert and Geneva Alice (Bolin) Carter. Theresa married Paul Morton Thomas on September 15, 1967, and together they enjoyed twenty-three years of marriage before his passing on April 8, 1991. Yvonne married David Webb on June 10, 1995, and he survives.
Yvonne has always been involved in church from a young age, where she attended Gospel Kingdom Church in Louisville. She played the clarinet and saxophone in the church orchestra and taught children in VBS. She married Paul Thomas in 1967 and together they raised a son and daughter until Paul died in 1991. One of her fondest memories was going on a mission trip to Israel in 1992, which she thoroughly enjoyed and spoke of often. She enjoyed her career as a tax preparer for H & R Block for more than twenty-five years. In 1995 she met and married David Webb and they moved to Tyler, Texas, where they continued as long time members of Tyler Gospel Chapel. In 2023, they moved to Mount Carmel, Illinois, and attended Gospel Kingdom Church there. She was known for her encouraging testimonies and singing in church. She will be deeply missed by her family and all that had the privilege of knowing her.
Yvonne will be remembered by her son, Nathan (Missi) Thomas; daughter, Rachel (Doug) Wirth; six grandchildren, Shelby (Sean) Malin, Kayla (Micheal) Engle, Paul (Autumn) Wirth, Joseph Wirth, Daniel (Haven) Wirth, David (Ada) Wirth; four great grandchildren, Sam Malin, Alex Malin, Clementine Wirth, and Zebulon Wirth; sisters, Florabelle (Jesse) Urbano, and Delores (Scott) Campbell; step brother and sister, Steve (Lori) Pottinger Joan Pottinger; many loved cousins, nieces and nephews.
Yvonne was preceded in death by her father, Layton Carter; mother, Geneva Pottinger; and first husband, Paul Thomas.
A Memorial Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 P.M., Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Gospel Kingdom Church, 5600 Cooper Chapel Rd., Louisville, KY 40229. A Memorial Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. at the Church with Brother Jesse Urbano officiating. She will be laid to rest at Campground Memorial Cemetery in Shepherdsville, Kentucky.
