Betty L. Goodman, 92

Betty L. Goodman, 92, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, passed away on Monday, September 1, 2025, at Meadow Brook Skilled Nursing and Rehab in Grayville, Illinois. She was born on February 10, 1933, in Browns, Illinois, the daughter of Thomas and Florence (Deisher) Richardson.

Betty was a hard-working lady, doing all she could to take care of her family. She worked at several grocery stores, cleaned homes and businesses, along with Shurtleff Manor Nursing Home and Snap-On Factory. She was also a fun-loving woman who enjoyed playing bingo, dancing and enjoyed country and gospel music. Betty liked watching western movies, soap operas, and wrestling on television. She enjoyed gardening, playing games and going to flea markets. Spending time with her family and cooking big meals for them was among her favorite things to do. Betty was a member of the VFW and the American Legion auxiliaries in Mount Carmel. Betty was a member of First General Baptist Church in Mount Carmel.

Betty will be remembered by her children, Don Dicus, Herbert Goodman, Jr. and wife Shirley, Danny Goodman and wife Karen, and Debbie White; grandchildren, Heather Moore, Donnie Dicus, Jennifer Massamore, Kari Coy, Melissa Goodman, Samantha Gallimore, Michael Goodman, Laura Gibbler, Amanda Greentree, Steve Goodman, Thomas Goodman, Kimberly Shrader, Stephanie Stevens; twenty-eight great grandchildren; eleven great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Betty is joining her family circle of those who preceded her death, her son, Randy Goodman; granddaughters, Kristi Duckett and Nicole Goodman; brothers, John Richardson, Bob Richardson, and Herman Fredrick Richardson; sister, Mary Rayborn.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a Visitation from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m., Sunday, September 7, 2025, in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 8, 2025, in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Underwood officiating. Burial will follow at Nye Chapel Cemetery.
