Goldie Elizabeth Perry, 91, of Mt. Carmel, Illinois passed away on December 21, 2025, at Oakview Nursing & Rehabilitation.
She was born on November 3, 1934, in Mt. Carmel, Illinois. Goldie was the daughter of Cecil and Sarah (Shelby) Fortner. She worked and retired from Champion Laboratories as an assembler.
Goldie loved planning family reunions and spending time with family at get-togethers. She loved her grandchildren, and was a good, honest Christian woman. She also loved to travel.
She is survived by her children, Walter Perry of Mt. Carmel, David Perry of Mt. Carmel, Mark Perry of Mt. Carmel, John Perry of Mt. Carmel, Candie (Jason) Randall of Odon, Indiana, and Christy Perry of Mt. Carmel. She is also survived by her sister Charlotte Reed of Francisco, Indiana.
Goldie was preceded in death by her infant brother Roscoe Fortner; brothers, Buster, Kenneth and Clayborn Fortner; and sisters, Hazel Wininger, Jaunita Askren, and De-Ella Thompson.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Short-Cunningham Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 27, 2025, in the chapel of Short-Cunningham Funeral Home.
Burial will follow the service at Highland Memorial Cemetery.
