Michael "Mike" Clay Donham, 66, passed away on Sunday, October 12, 2025

in Decatur, Alabama.

He was born in Mount Carmel, Illinois on September 30, 1959 to the late

Robert and Mary Evelyn Yarbrough Donham.

Mike earned his medical degree from the University of South Alabama in

Mobile, Alabama in 1993 and went on to practice medicine as a Primary Care

Physician in Decatur, Alabama for over 30 years.

Mount Carmel always held a special place in Mike's heart. He kept up with

hometown friends, news, and events, never missing a chance to follow the

Aces football and basketball teams. In recent years, he enjoyed live streaming

their games online.

Mike was an avid sports fan. He had the opportunity to travel to many MLB,

NBA, NFL, NHL, and NCAA football and basketball games. Many of which

were playoff and national championship games. His favorite teams were the

St. Louis Cardinals, Green Bay Packers, Indiana Hoosiers, and The Alabama

Crimson Tide. He and his wife, Holly, traveled to games often, regularly

attending Cardinal’s spring training and Alabama football games.

Throughout his lifetime, Mike attended trapshooting events with his father and

grandfather, becoming a skilled trapshooter himself. He regularly enjoyed

attending the Grand American Trapshooting Championships in Sparta,

Illinois.

Outside of travel, hobbies, and his professional career, Mike enjoyed

spending time with family, attending his niece and nephew’s sports events

throughout the country, as well as regular family dinners to eat pizza, where

they spent many Friday nights reminiscing on friends, family, and their time

growing up in Mt Carmel.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Harold Donham and Mary

Evelyn Yarbrough Donham and grandparents Robert L. Donham and Sylvia

Sexton Donham, James E. Yarbrough and Mary Kate Inman Yarbrough.

He is survived by his wife, Holly Sims Donham of Decatur, AL; son (step),

Harrison Michaels of Birmingham, AL; daughter (step), Gini Beth Michaels of

Decatur, AL; brother, Brad Donham (Valerie) of Huntsville, AL; nephew, Alan

Donham (Kerianne) of New York City, NY; and niece, Kayla Donham of

Huntsville, AL.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2025 at 1:00 PM with service

following at 2:00 PM at Decatur First United Methodist Church in Decatur, AL.

Burial service will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at 10:00 AM at

Highland Memorial Cemetery in Mt. Carmel, IL.
