Irma Elizabeth Madden, 73

Irma Elizabeth Madden, 73, of Bellmont, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, Indiana surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on August 18, 1952, in Mount Carmel, Illinois, the daughter of John I. and Irma F. (Stoneberger) Stoltz. Irma married Ross Madden on June 7, 1970 and together they enjoyed fifty-five years of marriage.

Following graduation at Mount Carmel High School, Irma was a beautician and opened her own beauty shop. Irma had a deep love for people and was dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality care as a home health caregiver. Irma found joy in watching mystery shows and cheering on Cubs baseball games alongside her husband. In her free time, she especially cherished shopping trips with her children. Irma was a member of the Bellmont United Methodist Church. Above all, she was most proud of her four-generation family and deeply treasured the moments when they could all be together.

Irma will be remembered by her loving husband, Ross Madden of Bellmont; son, Christopher Madden and wife, Tabby of Paris, IL; daughter, Christina Haggstrom and husband, Wade of Terre Haute, IN; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; sister, Peggy Sue Compton of Bellmont, IL; brothers-in-law, Larry Madden and Danny (Ann) Hawf; sister in law, Laveta (Bill) Casburn; many loved nieces and nephews along with special nephew, Jacob (Kandace) Compton; and many loved cousins.

Irma was preceded in death by her parents; brother-in-law, Tony Compton; and sister-in-law, Jessica Madden.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a Visitation from 11:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m., Saturday, November 1, 2025 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, November 1, 2025 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home with Pastor David Shain officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Irma’s memory to Wabash Rally Against Cancer or to Safe Haven. Envelopes will be at the funeral home or can be mailed to Keepes Funeral Home, 1500 North Cherry Street, Mount Carmel, IL 62863.
