Ruby H. Dilbeck, 94

Ruby H. Dilbeck, 94, of Bellmont, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 19, 2025 at Oakview Nursing & Rehabilitation with her loving family by her side. She was born on February 19, 1930 in Patoka, Indiana, the daughter of Melborn and Gretal Mae (Slover) Harmon. Ruby married William “Bill” Dilbeck on April 3, 1948 at General Baptist Church in Fort Branch, Indiana. Together, Ruby and Bill enjoyed sixty-three years of marriage. Ruby and Bill enjoyed spending time at their river camp. She could often be found helping Bill with his woodworking projects and traveling to craft shows.

Ruby will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother whose love and care touched the hearts of all who knew her. She enjoyed starting her days with a cup of coffee while listening to music. Ruby was a fan of The Golden Girls, often finding joy in their timeless humor. She spent much of her time in the kitchen making delicious meals and baking the best chocolate chip cookies. Ruby always had a saying, the first star you see at night was her son Timothy, who passed away as a little boy. Ruby’s greatest joy in life was raising her children and being involved in the lives of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Ruby will be remembered by her daughter, Carla Keepes and husband, Kevin; son, Danny Dilbeck and Robin Dilbeck; grandchildren, Shawn (Jayla) Dilbeck, Derek (Megan) Prosise, Nick (Amber) Dilbeck, Vanessa (Danny) Armstrong, Victoria (Adam) Bassett, Tyler (Mariah) Prosise, Kristen (Daniel) Deach, Madyson (Matt) Smith and Vanessa Morrison; great grandchildren, Tucker Dilbeck, Taylor Dilbeck, Tessa Dilbeck, Haleigh Prosise, Harper Prosise, Hunter Prosise, Mason Dilbeck, Hunter Dilbeck, Briana Dilbeck, Danica Morrison, Jillian Morrison, Kason Morrison, Declan Deach, Gunnar Deach, Tinsley Bassett, Ruby Smith and Evie Smith; special friend, Linda Pritchard.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill; son, Timothy Glenn Dilbeck; brothers, Marion, Warren and Marvin Harmon; sisters, Ruth Stone, and Lora Trible.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a Visitation from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., Friday, January 24, 2025, in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 24, 2025, in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home with Ruby’s grandson, Pastor Shawn Dilbeck officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Fort Branch, Indiana where Ruby will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband, Bill.
