John Michael “Mike” Beauchamp, 80, of Mount Carmel, IL, passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at Wabash General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 30, 1944, in Princeton, Indiana, the son of John Stanley and Cora Lee (Youngman) Beauchamp. He married Gwendolyn Atwood on July 3, 1971, and they celebrated fifty-three years of loving marriage.
Mike faithfully served his country in the United States Army for two years during the Vietnam War. He worked at Snap On Tools Corporation until they closed the Mount Carmel facility. In his spare time, Mike enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He was a ham radio operator for twenty years. Mike enjoyed time spent with his family and he will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Mike leaves behind his beloved wife, Gwen; children, Whitney (John) Campbell of Vandalia, IL, Michelle Smith of Evansville, IN, Jackie (Jim) Turffs of Dixon, IL, Jason (Teresa) Beauchamp of Princeton, IN; grandchildren, Alexa and Caitlyn Campbell, Rachael and Lauren Turffs, Brandon and Jonathon Beauchamp; brother, Tim Beauchamp; several nieces and nephews; his adopted family, Julie Hagerty and her children, Megan, Molly, Andrew and Annie.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Connie Beauchamp, and Stephanie Katherine Higgins.
Private Graveside Services will be held at Highland Memorial Cemetery where Mike will be laid to rest with Full Military Honors.
