Richard Alan. “Rick” Radeloff, 76, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2024, at Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville, Indiana, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on July 23, 1947, in New York City, NY, the son of Walter A. and Claire (Dufresne) Radeloff. Rick was a graduate of Naperville High School, Naperville, Illinois, class of 1965. He was married for forty years to Judith Hobgood until her passing on May 3, 2023.

Rick, along with his wife, Judy, owned and operated Judy’s Antiques in Mount Carmel. Rick was a true survivor and accomplished so much in his life. He was a graduate of the University of Maryland with a bachelor’s degree, and during his sales career, he was awarded Salesman of the Year. Rick was extremely loyal, very intelligent, big hearted and had a great sense of humor. He had a love and passion for basketball, something that started at a young age when his father taught him to play. He played in elementary school, middle school, high school, college and continued into adulthood. Rick’s basketball skills earned him a college scholarship. He was also a lover of animals, especially dogs. To know him was to love him and Rick’s presence will be dearly missed.

Rick leaves behind three sisters, Dyan Strudler of Maryland, Janice (Michael) Golden of Texas, and Lisa (Pete) Schuyler of Maryland; nieces and nephews, Abigail Golden (Jimmy) Ritman, Bradley (Vanessa) Golden, Allison Golden (Scott) Tucker, David (Jen) Radeloff, Jillian Schuyler, Emmy Schuyler; great nieces and nephews, Samantha, Pierce, Charlotte, Finn, Lily, and James.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife, Judy; and brother-in-law, Paul Strudler.

A Private Family Service has been held to honor Rick’s life.
