Barbara E. McClellan, 93, of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, passed away January 10, 2024, at Deaconess Midtown in Evansville, Indiana.
Services will be held Saturday, January 13, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., in the Chapel of Short-Cunningham, with Tony Hodgson officiating. A burial will follow at Highland Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 13, 2024, in the Chapel of Short-Cunningham.
Barbara was born to the late Walter Ray and Marie (Tabler) Yarbrough on March 4, 1930, in Washington, Indiana. She attended Mt. Carmel High School and graduated with the class of 1952. Surviving are her three children: Randall Paul (Angie) McClellan of Clarksville, Tennessee, Kathy S. (Mike) Sutton of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, and Debbie (KeKo) Miller of Bridgeport, Illinois. Also surviving are her grandchildren: Samantha (Michael) Miller, Jessica (Allen) Miller, Jacob (Harley) Miller, Owen Sutton, Gary (Lacey) Sutton, Jason Wallace, Stacey (Bernie) Bilenki, Jennifer (Corbett) Raines, James Paul (Amy) McClellan, Jackie McClellan, and Angelica Rodriguez; 17 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, daughter Brenda C. McClellan, two sisters: Marjorie Kissling and Norma Hopper, three brothers: Dan, Ray, and Lawrence Yarbourgh, and her great-granddaughter Megan Hamilton-McClellan
Barbara worked for the General Telephone Company, was a nurse’s aide, and as a Custodian for 18 years for Mt. Carmel High School. She loved painting pictures of landscapes. Barbara loved going to Beall Woods and enjoyed fishing there. She also loved cooking out with family and camping. She was a member of Heartland Worship Center in Mt. Carmel, Illinois.
Memorials can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. Envelopes will be available at the service.
