Jeffrey Lynn Krug, 67, of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, passed away Friday, January 6, 2023, at Linda White Hospice House in Evansville, Indiana, surrounded by the love of his family.
He was born April 11, 1955, in Mt. Carmel, Illinois, the son of Donald, Sr. and Gladys (Baumgaertner) Krug.
Jeff worked for Zachary Construction, Pacific Press and Shear and did carpenter work during his life. He enjoyed helping people and cooking. Jeff was very proud of being a member of the Mt. Carmel Honor Guard. He was also a member of the Eagles, VFW, and Sons of the American Legion. Jeff loved his dogs, Roxie, and Scooby.
Left to cherish Jeff’s memory are his son Jason Schanzle of Evansville; grandson Jaxon Schanzle; and sisters Nancy Perry of Symsonia, Kentucky, Sally (Ben) Healy of Enfield, Illinois, and Nellie (Roger) Jackman of Allendale, Illinois; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Donnie, Benny, and Tony Krug; and sisters Sarah Greenleaf, Peggy Wilkinson, and Vicki Stevens.
A visitation for Jeff will take place on Friday, January 13, 2023, from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Short-Cunningham Funeral Home, 527 N. Mulberry Street, Mt. Carmel, Illinois. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. with burial following at Highland Memorial Cemetery, 1827 College Drive.
