Elnora “Norie” Mae Deisher, of Mount Carmel, Illinois passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at the age of 96. Elnora was born in Bone Gap, Illinois on May 21, 1926, to Chris Ezra and Fern Putnam Wade.
Norie was married to Robert Lee Sprinkle on December 23, 1949 and enjoyed thirty-two years of marriage until his passing on June 7, 1982. During her marriage to Lee, she loved to cook for family and friends as well as sew. She worked at Fairfield Garment Factory and Airtex in Fairfield. During their marriage, they lived in San Antonio while Lee was in service. They later moved to Fairfield and then Lancaster, Illinois. After Lee’s passing, she married Melvin Deisher on January 3, 1989. Norie and Melvin attended Lancaster Church of Christ. Norie and Melvin loved to travel and camp as well as fish on Mesa Lake which was home until his passing on December 12, 2010.
Norie is survived by her sister, Betty Jean McCullough; step-children, Patty Newsum, Donna Clark and Tim (Lea) Deisher; nieces, Debbie Petet, Renee McCoy; nephew, Bruce McCullough; step-grandchildren, Erin (Sam) Eddinger, Jan (Kent) Gerbers, Nathan Newsum, Sara (Chris) Allen, Cole Deisher, Candace (Ross) Chapman, Denise (Gary) Jolly, Scott (Lisa) Clark and Rhonda Tate; great niece, Bobbi Ochs and great nephews, Steven and Ethan McCoy as well as many step-great grandchildren.
Norie was preceded in death by her husbands; parents; sister, Norma Sue Xanders and half-sister, Frida Litherland.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 23, 2022 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home with Pastor Ross Chapman officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Cemetery in Mount Carmel, Illinois.
Family and Friends are invited to gather for a Visitation from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Thursday, June 23, 2022 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home.
