Shawn Andrew Kocher, age 36 of Mt. Carmel and formerly of Bridgeport, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, April 4, 2022. He was born in Lawrenceville on November 11, 1985 to Gilbert Kocher and Ruby “Diana” (Wells) Jerrell.
Shawn had a beautiful smile and knew how to make everyone else smile as well. He was a huge sports fan. If a game was on, he was watching…especially Penn State. He had been working at the Gibson South Coal Mine and was a member of the Mt. Carmel Eagles. Shawn loved being a dad and playing outside with his boys.
Surviving family includes: his father and step-mother- Gilbert and Lora Kocher of Olney: his three beautiful sons- Lincoln Andrew Kocher, Gibson Bruce Kocher, and Sullivan Victor Kocher all of Mt. Carmel: four brothers- Billy Kocher of Bridgeport, Jason Kocher and wife Amanda of Vincennes, IN, his twin Shane Kocher and wife Talia of Bicknell, IN, Todd Bettis and wife Julie of Olney: four sisters- Amy Selby and husband Shannon of Bridgeport, Jenny Allen of Sulphur Springs, TX, Kellie Bettis of Olney, and Angela Hites and husband Jeff of Olney: and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby “Diana” (Wells) Jerrell.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at the Cunningham Funeral Home in Bridgeport. Visitation is Friday evening at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Bridgeport City Cemetery.
