Vickie L. Bailey, 66, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, passed away on Monday, October 5, 2020 at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, Indiana, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on January 20, 1954 in Princeton, Indiana, the daughter of Jim and Shirley (Hartley) Iglehart. She married James “Jim” Bailey on October 14, 1978 and they were planning to celebrate their forty-second anniversary in a few days.
Vickie was employed at Dairy Queen for thirty-two years. She always had a friendly face, worked hard and was a manager for many years. Vickie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved following her grandchildren in their sports and was their biggest cheerleader. She was an “Aces Wrestling Mom” and attended as many matches as possible. For many years she was a volunteer for the fundraising events for ECKCO. Vickie enjoyed playing bingo and was a caring friend to many. She and Jim enjoyed spending time together and would often take a ride down by the river. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Vickie will forever be remembered by her loving husband, Jim; children, Tim (Tracie) Guard, James (Kathy) Bailey Jr., David Daniel, J.J. Bailey, Mary (Jim) Taylor; grandchildren, Richie (Tatiana) Bobbitt, Chris (Angelica) Bobbitt, Sam Wampler, Emily Wampler, Ryan Webb, Drew Webb, Teagan Guard, Rylie Webb, Flynn Guard, Keller Guard, Kimberly Wilson, Kara Wilson, Erica Iglehart; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Rick (Kim) Iglehart, Terry (Therese) Iglehart, Gary (Anne) Iglehart; sister, Sandy Iglehart; and several loved nieces and nephews. Vickie was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Bob Weir, Bill Weir; sisters, Jeanne Gray, Carolyn Sue Bullington.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a Visitation from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Friday, October, 9, 2020 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home. Social distancing practices will be in place.
Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 9, 2020 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home. Following the Funeral Services, cremation rites will take place and burial will be at a later date.
