Judy M. Hunt, 74

Judy M. Hunt, 74, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at her residence surrounded by the love of her family.  She was born on August 21, 1945 in Princeton, Indiana, the daughter of Virgil and Evelyn (Leek) Walker. She graduated from Allendale High School Class of 1963.  Judy married Dan Hunt on November 23, 1984 and together enjoyed thirty-five years of marriage centered on their family.

Judy was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and some of her fondest memories was spent with family.  She enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and loved to cook for her family.  Judy and Dan loved to travel and always enjoyed their trips to Opryland in Nashville, TN.  Judy worked at Mount Carmel Apparel for twenty years and Touch & Tone for five years.  Judy had a heart for helping others and this showed in her work as a caregiver.  She loved the many clients that she was able to provide compassionate care to during her time as a caregiver.  Judy was a member of First General Baptist Church in Mount Carmel.  

Judy will be lovingly remembered by husband, Dan Hunt; daughters, Lesia (John) Carr, Teresa (Luke) Colbert and Mindy Biehl; stepchildren, Tammy Huey, Brook (Tina) Hunt, Stacey (John) Allen; grandchildren, Bryce Carr, Courtney Carr, Drake Colbert, Mitchell Colbert, Kane Garcia and Gage Price; brothers, Richard (Debbie) Walker, and Greg Walker; sisters, Sharon (Ed) Schafer, Linda Bates, Debbie (Greg) Smith, and Brenda (Harry) Hottel; many loved nieces and nephews.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Randall Walker and Jim Walker.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Residential Hospice and Kathy Collz for their exceptional care that was given to Judy.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a Visitation from 6:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 29, 2020 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 30, 2020 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Underwood officiating.  Burial will follow at Allendale Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made in Judy’s memory to First General Baptist Church. Envelopes will be at the funeral home or can be mailed to Keepes Funeral Home, 1500 North Cherry Street, Mount Carmel, IL 62863.
