Bobby L. Sales, 77, of Harrison, Arkansas, formerly of Mt. Carmel, passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at Willard Walker Hospice House in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
He was born November 23, 1941, in Marlow, Oklahoma, the son of Bill and Mildred (Johnson) Sales. After graduating high school, Bobby proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He married Lois LaVerne Stuessel on September 10, 1965, in Mt. Carmel, Illinois. They had been married 41 years when she passed in 2006.
Bobby worked 42 years at Pacific Press and Shear as a power unit hydraulic assembler from 1964 until he retired in 2008. He loved wood working, was a member of VFW, Eagles and a past Commander of the American Legion.
Left to cherish Bobby’s memory are his sons, Scott Sales and his wife Madeline of Harrison, Arkansas, and Jim Sales of Louisiana; seven grandchildren, Sara Ditterline, Nathan Sales, Ashley Duke, Eddy Rust, Levi Slover, Seth Sales and Dakota Sales; and, seven great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Sisson, Trace Sisson, Brielle Ditterline, Axil Sales, Kellen Sales, Alaina Rust and Keegan Shaver.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents; wife, LaVerne; brothers, Jim Sales and Billie Sales.
A graveside service will be held Friday, May 10, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at Highland Memorial Cemetery, 1827 College Drive, Mt. Carmel, Illinois. There will be no visitation.
