Gary E. Renck, 86

Gary E. Renck, 86, of Mount Carmel, Illinois, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2019 at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.  He was born on January 21, 1933 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of Harold and Veronica (Gallatin) Renck.   Gary Graduated from Mount Carmel High School Class of 1951.  He was an outstanding athlete and received a scholarship to play football in college. Gary married Martha “Motsy” (Trimble) Renck on June 27, 1959 and together they enjoyed fifty-nine years of marriage.

Gary faithfully served his Country in the United States Army.  Following his service, Gary came back to Mount Carmel where he managed the meat locker and was a skilled butcher.  Gary was a very hard worker and retired from Snap-On Tools.  Among his hobbies, he enjoyed being outdoors working in the garden and camping with his family.  Above all, Gary loved his family and was very proud of his children and grandchildren.  He was a member of Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Mount Carmel.  He will be missed by his family and all who knew him.

Gary will be remembered by his loving wife, Motsy Renck; two sons, Kelly Renck of Mount Carmel and Kevin Renck of Centralia, IL; two daughters, Michelle Motta and husband Mike of Evansville, IN and Melissa Mosby of Fort Branch, IN; grandchildren, Alicia Reeves, Kristen Kays, Monica Courter, Nolan Renck, Mikayla Renck, Casey Mosby, Cydney Mosby, Paxton Mosby and Carley Mosby; great grandchildren, Chase, Brady, Lyla, Makenzie, Rylee and Noah.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Armando Gutierrez.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a Visitation from 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 10, 2019, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Robert Zwilling officiating.  Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery with Full Military Honors.

Memorial contributions may be made in Gary’s memory to Eugene C. Kieffer Charitable Organization (E.C.K.C.O) an organization that helps support local athletes with developmental disabilities and to ensure that they have everything they need to compete in events.  Envelopes will be at the funeral home or can be mailed to Keepes Funeral Home, 1500 North Cherry Street, Mount Carmel, IL 62863.
