Annette Joyce Kemper (Mowatt), 77, of Hendersonville, TN, formerly of Mt. Carmel, IL, passed away peacefully Friday, October 4th, 2019 at her home. She was born October 12, 1941 in Princeton, IN, the eldest of three children to Morris and Irene (Simpson) Kemper, both of whom preceded her in death.
Annette graduated from Mount Carmel High School in 1959 and attended Southern Illinois University.
She is survived by a daughter, Stephanie (Mowatt) Carlson and her husband Bob of Woodridge, Illinois; grandson Scott Carlson and granddaughters Haley Mowatt, Natalie (Carlson) Yasskin and her husband Bennett, and Melanie Carlson; brother Jim Kemper and his wife Mai; nieces Jeannie Bilskie, Jo Anne Shular, Tiffany Seaton, Tammy Rhodes, Mina Nolan, Moya Thompson, Misa Thomas, and Madea Gordon; and nephews Tim Kemper and Troy Kemper.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Morris and Irene Kemper, her sister, Nancy Shular and her son Steven Mowatt.
During her lifetime Annette followed many of her passions, including her creativity demonstrated through her love of arts and crafts; her exceptional golf abilities, winning many tournaments including the Evansville Country Club Women’s Championship in 1989; and her interest in the latest consumer technologies. She later had an interest in essential oils and was passionate about helping others through natural healing.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 19th, 2019 at Short-Cunningham Funeral Home, 527 N Mulberry St., Mt. Carmel, IL followed by a funeral service at 1:00 p.m.
