Larry Edward Fortner, 67, of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, passed away Thursday, January 17, 2019, at his residence with his loving companion by his side.
Larry was born in Mt. Carmel, Illinois, on May 20, 1951, the son of Cecil Fortner and Rosalie (Rhoderick) Isham.
He was an active member of Hope Fellowship Church, working with the food pantry. Larry also worked at WAVE. He loved his fur buddies, Pepper and Dottie. Larry was an avid fan of NASCAR. He cheered on his favorite drivers: Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson and Danica Patrick.
Larry is survived by his loving companion of 27 years, Tina Goldman; daughter, Michelle Templeton and husband Jason of Carmi, Illinois; a granddaughter, Zenley Templeton he call “Little Z”; siblings, Phillip Fortner of Montana, Joe Fortner of Indianapolis, Indiana, Steve Fortner of Indianapolis, Indiana, Tim Fortner of Huntsville, Alabama and Sharon Banwense of New Mexico.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Edgar Ellis Fortner, Marilyn Fortner and Michael Gooch.
Per his wishes he will be cremated. There will be no service at this time.
