Betty Trottier, 94, Mt. Carmel, Illinois, passed away Sunday, January 13, 2019, at Oakview Heights surrounded by her loving family.
She was born April 26, 1924, in Kenosha, Wisconsin, the youngest of six children of Charles and Mary (Lehman) Marcoe.
Betty married Robert J. Trottier February 1, 1942 in Kahoka, Missouri, and he preceded her in death after thirty years of marriage on November 24, 1972.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Betty worked as a waitress for My’s Restaurant in Kenosha, Wisconsin, Cork & Bottle and Mt. Carmel Apparel in Mt. Carmel, Illinois, retiring from Snap-On Tools. She was a 73 year member of the Eagle’s Auxiliary.
Left to cherish Betty’s memory are her children, Sandra Emmons and husband Jack of Mt. Carmel, Gail Poland and Bob Crow of Mt. Carmel, Mary Simmons and husband Hughes of Evansville, Indiana, Kerry McAlister and Don Dunkel of Long Valley, New Jersey, James Trottier and wife Nancy of Mt. Carmel, and Debbie Duffey of Atlanta, Georgia; twelve grandchildren, Kent Emmons, Chad (Shannon) Emmons, Greg Poland, Gina (Roddy) Clark, Bob Trottier, Brandi Trottier, Belinda Tkacz and Will Brenner, James (Lorrie) Trottier, Beth (Ben) Buchanan, Joe Lockhart, Jake Lockhart, Jeremy Lockhart; thirty-three great grandchildren and one great great grandson; eight step grandchildren, Heather (Kim) Baker, Cory Tinsley, Zack (Sarah) Boling, Michael (Mary Anne) Simmons, Rita (Larry) Meeks, Lisa (Danny) Veeck, Mark Simmons and Sandra Simmons; twenty great grand step grandchildren and six great great grand step children.
Preceding Betty in death was her parents; husband; sons, Robert, Jr. and Joseph; infant daughter, Elizabeth; grandson, Sean Emmons; sister, Mildred Burman; brothers, Leroy, Chester, Edward and Oliver Marcoe; son-in-law, Randy McAlister; and step grandson, David Boling.
Per her wishes, Betty will be cremated and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
