A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, April 1, 2018 at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church to honor the life of Irene Ankenbrand. Father Robert Zwilling conducted the funeral mass assisted by Deacon Steve Lowe. Donna Lowe served as keyboardist. Saint Mary’s School Fifth- Grade Girls Choir sang during the Mass. Servers were the Fifth-Grade Boys Reed Stinson, Tobias Fullop and Jesse Brogan. “Jesus Christ is Risen Today” was the opening hymn followed by the opening prayer. Irene’s grandchildren, Dawn Weiss and Marcy Frailey placed the pall on the casket. Father Bill Rowe read the first and second reading. Deacon Steve Lowe read the Gospel. The Responsorial Psalm, “Shepard Me, O God” was sung by Jeanne Tennis. The presentation of gifts were brought forward by Tori Frailey and Shamber Weiss. The presentation song was “Here I am Lord”, and “Fly Like a Bird” served as the communion hymn. Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion were Allan Kidd and Sara Caddell. The song of farewell, “Precious Lord Take My Hand” and “Amazing Grace” was the closing hymn. Burial tool place at Saint Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Mount Carmel where Irene was laid to rest next to her beloved husband, Louis Ankenbrand. Pallbearers were Takoma Weiss, Todd Weiss, Danny Garrett, Josh Shiever, Ray Stepro, Jr., Austin McCoy and Robert Frailey, Sr. Keepes Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Irene Ankenbrand.
