Georgia Ann Vines

Georgia Ann Vines, 85, of Allendale passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at Oakview Heights Continuous Care & Rehab. She was born on April 28, 1932 in Carmi, IL the daughter of George and Stella Mae (Abbott) Blazier. She married William "Bill" Vines on January 7, 1955. They enjoyed more than sixty years of marriage before his passing on June 1, 2015.

Georgia was a long time member of the Church of God in Carmi, IL and in recent years had become a member of Heartland Worship Center in Mt. Carmel. She worked for many years as a seamstress at the Mt. Carmel Garment Factory. She enjoyed camping, gardening, quilting, was an avid cook and loved baking and spending time with her family. She passed down her love of cooking to all five of her grandkids. She always had a stash of ice cream, pop and candy for the grandkids and great-grandkids and almost always had something delicious cooking on the stove. Georgia was known for her ability to recite the alphabet backwards and quote tongue twisters at a rapid speed without getting tongue tied. She loved doing puzzles, was very spunky and had a great sense of humor. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. 

Georgia will be remembered by her two daughters, Linda (Mike) Schneider of Allendale and Glenda (Joe) Sutton of Mt. Carmel; five grandchildren, Michelle (Damon) Banks, Mark (Nicole) Jones, Brian (Cassie) Schneider, Jason Jones, Bethany Jones; one step-granddaughter, Christi Sutton; seventeen great-grandchildren, Chloe and Ellie McIntire, Levi, Sophie, Luke and Annie Banks; Dustan and Courtney Jones; Libby, Caleb, Gabby and Joel Schneider; Hunter and Skyla Jones; Josie, Jaxon and Gunar Carlson; two brothers, James (Betty) Blazier and Carl (Tina) Blazier, several nieces and nephews. 

Georgia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and love of her life, William "Bill" Vines; sister, Olidine Mick; half-sister, Florence Musgraves; half-brothers, Harvey and Harlan Blazier and a great-grandson, Devan William Jones.

Family and friends are invited to gather from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 14, 2017 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 14, 2017 in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home with Pastor Tony Hodgson officiating. Burial will follow at Allendale Cemetery where Georgia will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband, Bill Vines.
