Pritzker Digs In Heels Against Non-Compliant School Districts

GOVERNOR J-B PRITZKER IS MAKING HIS STANCE ON SCHOOL MASKING CLEAR. SEVERAL SCHOOL DISTRICTS ARE ON PROBATION WITH THE STATE FOR NOT FOLLOWING A MANDATE FOR ALL STAFF AND STUDENTS TO WEAR A MASK, WHETHER THEY ARE VACCINATED OR NOT. THIS WEEK AT AN UNRELATED PRESS CONFERENCE HE WAS ASKED WHETHER HE REALLY WOULD IMPOSE SANCTIONS SUCH AS LOSS OF FUNDING ON SCHOOLS THAT DON'T COMPLY.

THE GOVERNOR SAYS MASKS ARE NECESSARY TO PROTECT STUDENTS WHO CAN'T GET VACCINATED AND THE SURROUNDING COMMUNITY.

ASKED THIS WEEK IF HE REALLY WOULD SANCTION SCHOOLS THAT AREN'T FOLLOWING THE MASK MANDATE, THE GOVERNOR SAID, YES WE ARE REALLY GOING TO DO THAT.

THE GOVERNOR SAYS THE GOOD NEWS IS THAT SOME OF THE DISTRICTS THAT HAVE BEEN PUT ON PROBATION ARE NOW COMPLYING.
