Motorist Injured In Gallatin County Crash

ISP INVESTIGATES TRAFFIC CRASH WITH INJURIES

The Following Preliminary Information is Being Released by Illinois State Police District 19

WHAT:                      Two Vehicle Traffic Crash with Injuries

WHERE:                   US Route 45 at Shain Cemetery Road, Omaha Township, Gallatin County.

WHEN:                      Aug. 24, 2021, at 2:40 p.m.

VEHICLES:              Unit 1 – White 2009 Saturn Outlook

Unit 2 – Brown 1981 Chevrolet Pickup

DRIVERS:                 Unit 1 – Kassie E. Crowder, a 27-year-old female from Evansville, IN – Refused medical attention.

                                    Unit 2 – Miranda L. Carter, a 36-year-old female from West York, IL – Transported by ambulance to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

PRELIMINARY:      Preliminary investigative details indicate the following occurred: Unit 1 was traveling southbound on US Route 45 at Shain Cemetery Road. Unit 2 was parked off the roadway on the west ditch line with mechanical issues. Unit 1 drifted over the fog line and rear-ended Unit 2. The impact caused Unit 1 to roll onto its side. Carter was sitting inside of Unit 2 when the vehicle was struck. Carter was transported by ambulance to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Crowder refused medical attention. No further information will be disseminated at this time.

 

CHARGES:               Crowder was arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and was cited for Improper Lane Usage and No Insurance.

 

All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
