61 year old John Dardeen will have to wait at least until May to find out his sentence for selling meth. Dardeen was was convicted by a Wabash County Jury last month on a Class 2 felony charge of meth delivery of more than 5 grams. That charge carries a possible prison sentence of 3 to 7 years. He was scheduled to be sentenced Monday afternoon, but that hearing was postponed after Patrick Costa entered his appearance to represent Dardeen replacing court appointed public defender Rhonda Blades.
Appearing via video-conference, Costa told Judge William Hudson that he needed time to review the pre-sentence investigation and confer with state’s attorney Kelli Storckman. A status hearing in the case was scheduled for May 8th and with no date set for the rescheduled sentencing hearing.
Dardeen was escorted back to the Wabash County Jail where he’s been since he was convicted February 8th and his $2,000 cash bond was revoked.
