County Using ARPA Monies for Two Equipment Upgrades

Wabash County Commissioners are tapping into American Rescue Plan funds to purchase potentially life saving equipment. The first purchase was for a new AED unit to assist victims stricken with cardiac issues at a cost of just over $5,300.

Wabash County Sheriff Derek Morgan explained the second purchase was to upgrade the panic buttons in the offices at the courthouse. Since emergency communications recently switched from analog to digital, Morgan said the panic notifications no longer go straight to law enforcement radios and instead just go to the dispatch center costing valuable response time. County commissioners approved the nearly $13,000 price tag for the new equipment.
