On April 15, 2021, at 6:47 p.m. Gibson County Deputy Bryce Jutzi conducted a traffic stop on US 41 near County Road 1200 South on a White 1992 Honda Civic for an equipment violation. While speaking with the driver 21-year-old Courtney Korder of Winona, Minnesota Deputy Jutzi detected clues that indicated illegal drugs may be inside the vehicle. At that point he asked for consent to search the vehicle and Mr. Korder denied that request. Deputy Jutzi then asked Mr. Korder to step back inside his vehicle while he completed the traffic stop. Mr. Korder was also advised that a police K9 was going to come do a free air search around his vehicle due to the clues that he had observed. While completing the traffic stop Deputy Jutzi saw Mr. Korder drop a baggie containing a green leafy substance out the window of his vehicle. At that point Mr. Korder was placed into custody while a drug investigation was conducted. At the conclusion of his investigation Deputy Jutzi transported Mr. Korder to the Gibson County Jail where he was charged with Possession of Marijuana. He has since posted an $1100 bond.
