On April 15, 2021, at 2:29 p.m. Gibson County Sergeant Bruce Vanoven and Deputy Jennifer Loesch went to 3205 West Birch Street to serve an outstanding warrant on 36-year-old Nichole Gwaltney of Patoka, Indiana. Upon arriving at the residence and speaking with the owner of the residence officers detected the odor of burnt Marijuana. At that point a drug investigation was initiated that was conducted by Deputy Jennifer Loesch. During the investigation Ms. Gwaltney was taken into custody by Sergeant Bruce Vanoven. Sgt. Vanoven read Ms. Gwaltney her Miranda Warning and spoke to her about her warrant for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender. Additional officers were called to the scene and Sgt. Vanoven transported Ms. Gwaltney to the Gibson County Jail. Upon arriving at the jail Ms. Gwaltney was charged with Failure to Register As A Sex Offender, Possession of Methamphetamines, Unlawful Possession of a Hypodermic Needle, and Possession of Paraphernalia. She remains in custody on a $1500 bond.
Assisting Sergeant Vanoven and Deputy Loesch in their investigation was Princeton officers Sergeant Steve McNeece and Craig Zurilene and Gibson County Deputies Jennifer Robb and Quinten Might.
