PRINCETON, Ind. -- A Gibson County man has been charged with murder.
David Crowe, 47, was booked into jail on Wednesday. He was in court Thursday morning.
According to his arrest affidavit, a woman was reported missing from her home on Lyles Station Road, near Princeton.
Family members told police that Crowe had moved into the home with the woman -- who is a relative -- because he was kicked out of his apartment in Evansville.
While looking for the woman, a family member found what they believed to be a tarp in the woods. The object turned out to be the body for the woman in blood-stained clothing, as well as blankets and sheets. She appeared to have been stabbed. Blood stains were also found near the patio of the house.
While speaking with Crowe, police noticed a cut on his hand. He then admitted to stabbing the woman.
According to the affidavit, two knives used in the stabbing were found inside the house, as well as Crowe’s blood-stained clothes. The woman has not yet been identified.
