ISP INVESTIGATES TRAFFIC CRASH WITH INJURIES
The Following Preliminary Information is Being Released by Illinois State Police District 12
WHAT: Single Vehicle Traffic Crash with Injuries
WHERE: Interstate 70 eastbound at Milepost 60, Vandalia, Fayette County
WHEN: Oct. 7, 2021 at approximately 8:00 p.m.
VEHICLE: Unit 1 – Blue 1999 Chevrolet Silverado
DRIVER: Unit 1 – Jason D. Blacksher, a 39-year-old male of Chadwick, MO – Transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
PRELIMINARY: Preliminary investigative details indicate the following occurred: Unit 1 was traveling eastbound on Interstate 70 at Milepost 60, in Fayette County. Unit 1 left the roadway to the right and struck the end of a guardrail. The driver of Unit 1 was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No further information will be disseminated at this time.
CHARGES: The driver of Unit 1 was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol (DUI) and cited for Illegal Transportation of Alcohol, Uninsured Motor Vehicle, No Valid Driver’s License and Improper Lane Usage.
