Mt. Carmel Man Gets 10 Years In Prison On Stolen Vehicle Charge

Kelli Storckman, Wabash County State's Attorney, reports that Richard H. Perry III, a 45- year old Mt. Carmel, Illinois man, was sentenced to the Illinois Department of Corrections by the Honorable Circuit Judge William C. Hudson in Wabash County Circuit Court.

State's Attorney Storckman advises that the Defendant was charged July 13, 2020, with Possession of Stolen Vehicle, A Class 2 Felony. Mr. Perry was sentenced to 10 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections, to be followed by one year of mandatory supervised release (parole).

FACTS AND CIRCUMSTANCES OF OFFENSE:

That between July 9, 2020 and July 10, 2020, in Wabash County, Illinois, the Defendant, RICHARD H. PERRY III, committed the offense of POSSESSION OF A STOLEN VEHICLE, in that said Defendant, a person not entitled to possession of said vehicle, possessed a orange 2002 Saturn Vue vehicle at a time when the Defendant knew the vehicle was stolen, in violation of 625 ILCS 5/4-103(a)(1). A CLASS 2 FELONY
