Francisco man arrested on multiple charges

On June 10, 2020, at approximately 2:20 a.m. Sgt. John Fischer was in his patrol vehicle in front of the Gibson County Jail when a vehicle passed blaring it’s horn. Sgt. Fischer then conducted a traffic stop and the driver informed him that his friend had possibly been kidnapped by 39-year-old Austin Folsom of rural Francisco. After speaking with the reporting party Sgt. Fischer made contact with the person who had been possibly abducted. The victim told Sgt. Fischer that Mr. Folsom had threatened him with a weapon and shot his vehicle. The victim went on to state that Mr. Folsom pistol whipped him and then took his cellular phone. After getting the victims statement Sgt. Fischer made contact with Mr. Folsom. At the conclusion of his investigation Sgt. Fischer placed Mr. Folsom into custody and transported him to the Gibson County Jail. Upon arriving at the Gibson County Jail Mr. Folsom was charged with armed robbery, criminal confinement, criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon, intimidation with a deadly weapon, battery with injury, and criminal recklessness. Mr. Folsom remains in custody on a $12,000 bond.

Sgt. Fischer was assisted in his investigation by officers from the Princeton Police Department.
